Allstate 400 Tickets
The Allstate 400 at The Brickyard, formerly known as the Brickyard 400 from 1994 to 2004, is a yearly 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup points race held in Speedway, IN at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was voted one of NASCAR’s top ten races by Maxim Magazine. When this race was first held in 1994, it was the first one, other than the Indianapolis 500, to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1916. Only six drivers have won the Brickyard 400 and Daytona 500; they are Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jarrett, Bill Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, and Kevin Harvick. The tradition of the winning driver and crew kissing the bricks at the start/finish line began in 1996 with Dale Jarrett and his crew; this tradition was also carried over to the Indianapolis 500.
A.J. Foyt made a commercial for Sears Craftsman tools at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September 1991. While filming, he and Speedway president, Tony George, decided to take Foyt’s NASCAR Winston Cup car for a few laps around the track. Foyt became the 1st driver to drive a NASCAR stock car around the Speedway track. This event wasn’t a plan for a future race, but it did cause some interest and thoughts about the future. 9 NASCAR Winston Cup Series teams were invited to take part in what was officially called a Goodyear tire test at the Speedway on June 22, 1992. It was actually a compatibility test to see if stock cars would be competitive at the Speedway. On August 16 and 17, 1993, 35 NASCAR teams participated in an open test at the Speedway. Richard Petty, who had recently retired, took a few last laps on his own and donated his car to the Speedway museum afterward.
