Dollar General 300 Tickets
The Tropicana Twister 300 was a NASCAR Nationwide Series race that was held at the Chicagoland Speedway. The event is now popularly known as the Dollar General 300. In the past, it has also been known by various other names such as the USG Durock 300 (2005-2007) and the Sam's Club Presents The Hills Brothers Coffee 300 (2001). Dollar General is the current corporate sponsor of the racing event that was inaugurated in the year 2001.
The venue of the race, the Chicagoland Speedway is located in Joliet, Illinois. The Raceway Associates owns the track and was inaugurated in the year 2001. It is a 1.5-mile long, D-shaped oval track with 18 degrees banking at the turns. The front stretch is banked at 11 degrees and is 2,400 feet long while the backstretch is banked at 5 degrees and is 1,700 feet long. The speedway has a seating capacity for around 75,000 people and has also been a host to some other racing events such as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the Indy Racing League and the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
The Tropicana Twister 300 racing event was known by this name in the years 2001 to 2004. Jimmie Johnson was the winner of the inaugural race that was held in the year 2001. The event has seen some of the quickest drivers participate such as Joe Nemechek, Mike Potter, Paul Menard, Kasey Kahne, Jason White, Stanton Barrett, Matt Kenseth, Casey Mears, Michael Waltrip, Jason Keller, Scott Riggs, Mike Bliss and many others. The drivers who won the racing event in the past include Johnny Sauter, Bobby Hamilton, Jr., Justin Labonte, Kevin Harvick and Casey Mears.
The Tropicana Twister 300 or the Dollar General 300 is a famous racing event that consists of 200 laps and covers a distance of around 300 miles. Kevin Harvick won the race in the year 2007 and is thus the present champion.
