The Dodge Dealers 400, formerly known as the Dover 400, is the 2nd of 2 NASCAR Sprint Cup races, which are held at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware; and is usually held during the 3rd week of September. It is also the 2nd race in the Sprint for the Cup. Carl Edwards won this race in 2007, Jeff Burton in 2006, Ryan Newman in 2003 and 2004, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in 2001, Tony Stewart in 2000, Mark Martin in 1997, 1998 and 1999, Jeff Gordon in 1995 and 1996, Dale Earnhardt in 1989, Richard Petty in 1971, 1974, 1975 and 1979. This year, the race will be held Sept. 19-21, 2008.

Dover International Speedway is nicknamed the “Monster Mile” and even has a mascot of sorts depicted as a menacing, car-crushing creature that inflicts mayhem on NASCAR’s most skilled drivers. He’s also been formed into the winner’s trophy, playfully imitated by triumphant drivers, featured in a comic book and turned into an action figure, but Miles the Monster will be turned into the biggest attraction at a NASCAR track in 2008. He will become one of the tallest fiberglass statues in the world and will stand 46 feel tall. He will be among the race fans in Victory Plaza at the Speedway. The base, 60 feet around, will serve as a tribute to all the Dover race winners and well-known drivers who make their mark at the Monster Mile. Special driver tributes will be done around the base and will include a chronological listing of winners by race and series. Richard Petty and Bobby Allison, who both have 7 career wins at Dover, will be the first honored.
