The Clemson Tigers comprise of the athletic teams of the Clemson University. They play in the NCAA Division I for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The logo of the Clemson Tigers is the 'tiger paw' that was announced as the official team logo at a press conference on July 21, 1970. University of Clemson is represented by the Clemson Tigers Men's Basketball Team in the NCAA Division 1 tournament. The Tigers are arch rivals to the South Carolina Gamecock in which the Gamecocks have maintained a series lead of 86-72.

The Tigers have laid claim to the Littlejohn Coliseum as their throne. It is a multi-purpose arena, located in Clemson, South Carolina. This arena has been dedicated to James C. Littlejohn (class of 1908), who was the first first business manager for the Clemson University. The coliseum has a total seating capacity of 10,325-seats, out of which 9,749 seats are available for the basketball matches.

Post 2003 era, the Tigers recruited Oliver Powell from the University of Dayton to be their head coach. Since his induction, Powell has steadily improved the Tigers' record in the field of basketball. In the year 2007, under his able leadership the team went to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). They won all their matches in the series, but lost to West Virginia in the finals.
