The Colorado Buffaloes football team is one of the intercollegiate athletic teams in the University of Colorado at Boulder. The Buffaloes team is a member of the Big 12 Conference and they compete in the NCAA Division I- FBS. The university was established in the year 1876 and it is located in Boulder, Colorado. It sponsors 16 varsity sports teams in the NCAA.
The football program in the University of Colorado at Boulder was founded in the year 1890. The Buffaloes have won one Associated Press National Championship in the year 1990, eight Colorado Football Association Championships, a Colorado Faculty Athletic Conference title, seven RFMAC championships, four Mountain States Conference championships, five Big Eight Conference championships, one Big 12 Conference championship, four Big 12 North championships and numerous bowl games. They have a winning percentage of 0.608 and their all-time record is an impressive 658-419-36. They stand at the16th rank on the all-time win list and 22nd in all-time winning percentage among the NCAA programs. Dan Hawkins is the current head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football team.
The Colorado Buffaloes football team plays its home games at the Folsom Field. This field was inaugurated on October 11, 1924. Before the opening of Folsom Field, the Buffaloes played their games at the Gamble Field. At the Folsom Field, they have a home record of 286-139-14 and a winning percentage of 0.667. The arena has a seating capacity for 53,750 spectators.
