Motor City Bowl

Motor City Bowl Tickets

The Motor city bowl is an annual postseason college football bowl game. NCAA has certified it since it was started in the year 1997. During the years 1997-2002, the game was played at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. But from the year 2002, the game was moved to the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

Since the year 1997, the game has been thrilling the college football fans across the nation. The game has always been amongst the popular events in the history of world games, the Motor City Bowl matches a Mid-American Conference (MAC) representative from the Big Ten Conference (MAC). However in the nine years prior to the year 2006 game, only one of the Big Ten had been able to fill their spot in this game. As a result an at-large bowl-eligible school was chosen.

When the Big Ten is unable to fill their bowl spot in the Motor City Bowl, an at-large bowl-eligible school is chosen to replace the Big Ten's spot in the Motor City Bowl. The downside of the Motor City bowl each year is that it is the last of the Big Ten bowls, meaning the team playing in it has had a disappointing year, but was still good enough to win most of its games. That team will be facing the best that the MAC has to offer. Considering the MAC usually has only 2-3 good teams getting their best the resulting competition is usually a fairly even game. The Purdue site can dress it up with all the propaganda that they want, but this is nothing short of a disappointment for us.
