Syracuse University is a private research university founded in the year 1832, as a seminary by the Methodist Episcopal Church. The university is based in Syracuse, New York and it has a prominent residential campus that features an array of buildings and structures, including Romanesque structural complexes and contemporary structures.
The athletic teams of Syracuse University were originally known as the "Saltine Warriors.” and as the "Orangemen" and "Orangewomen". Recently, they are commonly labeled as the “Syracuse Orange”. Syracuse University has Otto the Orange as their mascot and the university team is also a member of the NCAA Division I and the Big East Conference. The Carrier Dome is their home stadium and it is considered as the largest domed structure on a college campus in the Northeastern United States. Prior to this, the Syracuse Orange team was based in Archbold Stadium, which was the Third concrete football stadium in the U.S.
The current head coach of the Syracuse University football team is Greg Robinson. During his tenure as head coach, he has posted an overall scoring record of 7-28. Prior to this, Greg had served as the defensive coordinator at the University of Texas and also for the Kansas City Chiefs.
