The athletic teams of the University of California, Los Angeles constitute the UCLS Bruins. Also known a the Bruins, they compete in the NCAA Division I tournament of the Pacific Ten Conference (PAC 10) and also the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). The UCLA Bruins football team represents the University of California, Los Angeles, in the sport of football.
Rick Neuheisel, born on February 7th, 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin is currently the head coach for the UCLA Bruins football team. Rick was appointed as the head coach for the UCLA Bruins on December 29th 2007 and prior to that, he was the offensive coordinator for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. After being hired as the head coach, Rick immediately started to unite his coaching staff, by retaining DeWayne Walker and also hiring Norm Chow. It was Rick who coined the phrase "Passion Bucket". During an interview, he said, “When you’re at UCLA, you have to have your passion bucket full when you play the Trojans.”
The Rose Bowl (stadium) is the home to the UCLA Bruins football team and is located in Pasadena, California. It is also the venue for the annual college football bowl game and the Rose Bowl Game.
It has a seating capacity of 91,136 fans for the UCLA Bruins football matches and 92,542 fans for the Rose Bowl Game. It is also considered as a National Historic Landmark. The Rose Bowl Stadium was inaugurated in the year 1922 and the first game to be played at this venue was between the California Golden Bears and the USC Trojans. The game ended with the Trojans being defeated by the Bears by a margin of 12-0.
