The members of 2 Sweet grew up together. The drummer was encouraged to play by his dad. 2 Sweet started performing at the local bar Scenery. The group was influenced by Jerry Lee Lewis.

After paying their dues and opening shows for years, 2 Sweet was signed to a record deal. The group's members all had odd jobs while they waited for their time to come. 2 Sweet’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure.
