A Change Of Pace started playing at Anyplace, a local club. The drummer was encouraged to play by his music teacher. The bassist was encouraged to play by his music teacher. The members of A Change Of Pace met in middle school. The group used to practice at the guitarist's basement.
After this last busy year the members of A Change Of Pace will spend some time apart to recharge after a long tour. The group may have just finished their new record, but they are plotting their next move already. A Change Of Pace's most current project is the group's first record since the band broke up six years ago.
Often times, critics will commend A Change Of Pace for their playfulness with the audience at concerts. Baltimore music critic Randall Brooks has always been pleased with band’s superb drummer. A Change Of Pace’s new record has received inspiring reviews from all the critics, including Jacob Geanopulos, who first saw the group perform in San Antonio.
A Change Of Pace met with a local DJ from Q98.5 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. A Change Of Pace always wanted to hear themselves at the top of the charts and they got their wish with the release of their first single.
A Change Of Pace knew that they were truly working musicians as soon as the band’s first fan club was started by Karen Oswalt in 1989. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Sacramento, the fan club quickly grew with group’s national tour and the launching of the group’s website by Amy Abbey.
