A Local Music Showcase was offered a record contract after playing at at Desperado, a local dive bar. The group members were relieved to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen. A Local Music Showcase’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The band does not have a problem selling out any venue now, small or large.
A Local Music Showcase accepted that they could really have a career in music in 1976, when Debra Kloiber started the band’s first fan club. The club started out in Phoenix with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
