Achim Petry’s members met in grade school. Dolly Parton heavily influenced the early work of the group. Achim Petry began playing in bars. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his uncle's record collection.

Achim Petry’s single climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues which they began. Achim Petry was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on Z93.5. The groupspent years before being signed as an opening act.

Achim Petry realized they made it in 1981, after Jess Ernst started the group’s first fan club. Initially the band only had a few fans from Biloxi in the club, but after playing across the country the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.

After this last busy year the members of Achim Petry will spend some time apart to recharge after a long tour. The group has just completed their most current release, but they are already planning the next release. Achim Petry's new album is the band's first release since the band broke up three years ago.

Dallas has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the group schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
