Against Me! began performing at the college dive bar Tutor. The bassist was encouraged to play by his dad. The bassist was influenced by his grandfather's love of music. The members of Against Me! met in 1998. The group was influenced by music of the '60s.

The most current project from Against Me! is the band's ninth album.

The group has just completed their new record, but they are already plotting the next move. After this last busy year the members of Against Me! will spend some time apart to recharge after a long year.

Against Me! were still not sure if they would make it after getting a record. They had heard too many stories and knew that they were in no position to expect anything. The group is now a huge draw wherever they go. After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Against Me! was signed to a record deal. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them.

Every time the band comes to Champaign they are sure to stop at Anyplace and play a show. Against Me! will mix songs from the latest album with hits from its past release.
