The lead singer used to listen to his mother's cassette tape constantly as a teenager. Aimee Mann began playing together in 1996. The band used to sell their tapes out of their car at the local record store.
Aimee Mann intends to take some time off after the tour, to allow the band members to pursue other projects. The band is in the second leg of the tour promoting for their most current album. Aimee Mann's new record took ten months to put together.
Aimee Mann were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the band. The group members were ecstatic to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Aimee Mann realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true as soon as Kathy Isenhower started a fan club for the group in 1983. After playing across the world, the group’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Sacramento to thousands in every city throughout the country.
