Apocalyptica’s members were friends in grade school. Music of the 1950s heavily influenced the early work of the band. Apocalyptica started performing at the local dive bar City. The bassist used to listen to his brother's CD constantly as a teenager.

Members of Apocalyptica hope to collaborate with other artists while they are on tour. The band has just finished their newest release, but they are already plotting the next move.

Critics have often praised Apocalyptica for their ability to connect with the crowd when they perform live. Louisville music critic Larry Klinger has always pointed out group’s incredibly talented vocals. Apocalyptica’s new release has received positive praise from Howie Kloiber, a music critic out of Oklahoma City, and Phil Ullmann, from Pittsburgh.

After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Apocalyptica was signed to a record deal. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. Apocalyptica’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started.

accepted that they had made it after Melissa Brooks started the first fan club for the group in 1994. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
