Augusta Blues Festival started singing at the college club Jail. The band used to practice at the bassist's house.
A member of Augusta Blues Festival started dating a girl whose sisterwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The group members were relieved once they were signed and quit their odd jobs that had supported them while they worked toward their dreams. After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Augusta Blues Festival knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started.
Augusta Blues Festival realized that they were truly working musicians as soon as the group’s first fan club was started by Sharon Rummerfield in 1976. Initially the band only had a few fans from Omaha in the club, but after playing from coast to coast the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Augusta Blues Festival's members hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever. The group recently completed their most current album, but they are already planning the next release. Augusta Blues Festival's newest project took just three months to put together.
