The members of Bad Apples were friends in grade school. The lead singer was encouraged to play by his music teacher. The guitarist discovered his love of music while listening to his sibling's record collection. Bad Apples began performing at Charlatan, a college dive bar. The group used to sell their records out of their van on campus.
