Badfish began singing at City, a local bar. Music of the '70s heavily influenced the early work of the group. Badfish began playing together while they were in college. The bassist use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a kid.
A member of Badfish started dating a girl whose grandmotherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller clubs in which they began.
Badfish accepted that they could really have a career in music after Jessica Krishnamurthy started the first fan club for the group in 1981. After playing from California to New York, the band’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Shelbyville to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Badfish's new album has been heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones. The group is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their newest project. Badfish intends to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to rest after a long tour.
