Banks and Shane’s members were friends in grade school. The guitarist used to listen to radio constantly as a teenager. The lead singer used to listen to radio constantly as a child. Banks and Shane started playing at Hypocrite, a local club. The group used to sell their CDs out of their van in the school parking lot.

Banks and Shane met with a local DJ from Z97.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The band regularly played at Giant before making it to the big time.

accepted that they had made it in 1980, after Jen Natalello started the group’s first fan club. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Austin. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.

The latest project from Banks and Shane is the group's first album in five years. The band recently finished their latest album, and they are already plotting the next move. Banks and Shane's members hope to team up with other artists while they tour.
