The Wrecking Ball Tour begins with an American leg on March 18, 2012. That night Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will sing before tens of thousands of fans in Atlanta at the Philips Arena. These fans will be anxious to hear the new single “We Take Care of Our Own”, but will also be expecting to sing along to “The River” and “Born to Run”. Springsteen and the band will be putting on domestic concerts until May 2, 2012, when they will end the leg with a huge show at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This could be the biggest concert on the tour schedule simply because the man is coming home.
As previously reported, Bruce Springsteen will be making this an international affair. The band will continue to celebrate the release of Wrecking Ball with a European leg that will last from May 13, 2012 to July 31, 2012. Bruce Springsteen History
The world was blessed with both the voice that became synonymous with heartland rock and the mind that would embrace its middle class, blue collar roots on September 23, 1949. Bruce Springsteen would become a rock star after finding inspiration watching Elvis Pressley shock the nation by swiveling his hips on Ed Sullivan. He became the Boss while touring with a number of groups in the 1960s. By the early 1970s, Columbia Records had finally signed the burgeoning talent and he recruited a backing band from the dozens of musicians who aided him in his rise in the New Jersey-New York area.
Bruce Springsteen signed in 1972 as a cult favorite and graduated to rock icon by the end of the decade. The official records have Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ and The Wild, The Innocent & the E Street Shuffle as platinum albums. However, the big break for Bruce and the E Street Band came in 1975 with the release of Born to Run. This album reached number three on the Billboard 200 and went platinum an incredible six times in the United States. Widely considered Springsteen’s magnum opus, it is not his most successful.
That honor goes to Born in the U.S.A. Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River had been multi-platinum hits, but Born in the U.S.A. is the lone Bruce Springsteen album to reach diamond certification. The album boasted an incredible seven Top Ten singles. “Dancing in the Dark” and “My Hometown” are among the must-plays at Bruce Springsteen concerts. The group’s popularity began to wane in the 1990s, though they received much movie soundtrack love. “Streets of Philadelphia” came as close to anthem as any movie could produce.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band albums had enjoyed phenomenal concert ticket sales despite the fall in record sales. However, 2007 marked the band’s return to utter domination. Magic reached number one on the charts and went platinum throughout the world. Working on a Dream followed in 2009, again going platinum worldwide and reaching the top of the charts. TheSeats has the Bruce Springsteen tickets to watch live as he rocks with the E Street Band.
