California Metalfest’s members grew up together. The group used to sell their CDs out of their car at local shows. California Metalfest started playing at Bedding, a local bar. The guitarist wanted to start a band since he was in grade school.

got K97.1 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the band. The band played for little to no money at first and was just happy to be given a chance to be heard. After the single hit the airwaves and blew up, California Metalfest were still afraid they’d be a one hit wonder.

California Metalfest knew that they were real working musicians when the group’s first fan club was started by Michelle Baca in 1990. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the band play at a small club in New York, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.

California Metalfest intends to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the band members to pursue individual projects. The band is in the start of the tour accompanying for their most current project.

California Metalfest will mix songs from the new release with hits from its past project. The band has a love affair with New York so they are sure to stop by and play a show whenever they are touring.
