Callahan began singing at the local dive bar Attorney. The band had their friends call into the local radio station to play their song. Callahan’s members met in college. The guitarist used to fall asleep with a cassette tapeplaying as a child.

Callahan was offered a record contract after playing at at Accountant, local bar. The groupyears opening for bands at parties. Callahan were unsure about their music careers with the release of their debut release, and were relieved after their music began climbing the charts ad getting lots of play on the radio.

Callahan knew they made it after Barbara Brooks started a fan club for the group in 1997. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.

Callahan's most current release is the group's tenth release. The group recently completed their most current project, but they are already thinking of their next move. Callahan plans to take a break after the tour, to allow the group members to rest after a long tour.
