Camisado began singing at the college dive bar Cafeteria. The group harassed the local radio station to play their song. Camisado began playing together while they were in middle school. The lead singer wanted to start a band since he was in high school.

Camisado’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The band plays almost every night of the week as the they tour the country. The years of paying their dues paid off when Camisado signed a record deal. The group group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them.

Camisado accepted that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act when Patricia Jasper started the first fan club for the band in 1975. Starting out in Austin with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand across the nation in under a year.

Camisado plans to take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to rest after a long tour. The band recently finished their latest project, but they are already plotting the next move. Camisado's most current project is the group's first release since the band broke up five years ago.
