Cavo started playing at Anyplace, a college bar. The band used to practice at the bassist's basement. Cavo began playing together while they were in grade school. The lead singer discovered his love of music while listening to his father's record collection.

The group is in the first leg of the tour accompanying for their latest record. Cavo intends to take some time off after the tour, to allow the group members to pursue individual projects.

Generally, critics have commended Cavo for their ability to rile up the crowd when they perform live. Los Angeles music critic Quincy Gremillion has always commented on band’s tremendous vocals. Cavo’s newest album has received positive praise from all the critics, including Peter Verlinden, who first saw the band sing in New York.

Cavo’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The group members were happy to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.

Cavo realized they made it in 1981, as soon as the group's first fan club was started by Debra Lewis. The club started out in Portland with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
