Christopher Stephen Botti, popularly known as Chris Botti, is a well known name in the American Music industry. Apart from being a prolific composer, he is also a superb trumpeter. In the early stage of his childhood, he was influenced largely by his mother who was a pianist. This musical ambience of his family helped him to get interested in music right from early childhood. But it was Miles Davis who influenced him the most. Botti released his first solo album in the year 1995 under the title “First Wish”. Though he did not get favorable response for this album from the audience, one could understand the fact that the music industry was going to get a superb musician within a few years.

First few albums of Botti failed to create a long lasting impression on the audience but his early solo albums can be termed as unique specimens of jazz music. It was in the year 1999 when he released his solo album “Slowing Down the World” and this is the turning point of his career. This album succeeded in capturing the attentions of critics and some critics even showered praise on this particular album. This album helped Botti to come to the forefront of media attraction and this helped him to become celebrity in the market.

His music is a perfect blend of modernism and traditionalism. His brilliant composition and nonpareil vocalization helped him to clutch a conspicuous position in the music industry. He has also performed with some renowned artists and this helped in various ways to explore various facets of traditional jazz music. Burt Bacharach, Brian Culbertson, Paula Cole, Clark Terry, Paul Simon, Roy Hargrove, Steven Tyler, David Torn, Chaka Khan, Frank Sinatra etc are some of the famous personalities with whom he has performed in various places. These performances helped him to strengthen his position in this highly competitive musical industry.

His penchant for experiment in jazz music forced him to join in the Bruford Levin Upper Extremities band. In the 2007, Botti released a new album under the title: “Italia”. This album emphasizes on his Italian root. Some of the songs of this album are famous and memorable. Venice, Estatè, Ave Maria and obviously the title track “Italia” are some of the famous tracks of this album. This album gained immense popularity within a few days of release. This album became so famous that this album was nominated for the prestigious award “Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album”.

In the 2003, Botti released a romantic album under the title “A Thousand Kisses Deep”. This album got a positive feed back from the market and a good number of copies of this album were sold within a few days. Inspired by the success of this album he released two more albums “When I Fall In Love” and “To Love Again” in the next two years. Botti also participated in some shows that helped him to increase his fan base. Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, The Caroline Rhea Show are some of the prominent shows in which he participated.
