The members of Counting Crows grew up together. The group harassed the local radio station to play their songs. Counting Crows began singing at Clerk, a college dive bar. The bassist was encouraged to play by his middle school teacher.

Counting Crows was discovered after single was played on B100.9. The bandyears opening for bands at parties.

Counting Crows knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true in 1983, when Carol Urich started the group’s first fan club. The fan club grew quickly from a few dozen members in a few cities to a few thousand across the nation.

Counting Crows's new album has taken the band in a brand new direction, using more instruments than ever before. The band recently completed their newest album, and they are already thinking of their next move. Counting Crows see this tour as a chance to expose a new group of fans to their music.

Generally, critics have praised Counting Crows for their ability to rile up the crowd during live performances. Aaron Dunn, a music critic from Baltimore, has always been pleased with group’s tremendous bassist. Counting Crows’s new album has received positive reviews from Norris Hilgendorf, a music critic out of Champaign, and Quintin Boughton, from Jacksonville.
