C.T.O. started singing at the local dive bar Rascal. The group used to sell their records out of their truck at the local music store. C.T.O.’s members grew up together. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his mom's record collection.
C.T.O. were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. The groupplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning.
C.T.O. knew they made it after Anna Gasteyer started a fan club for the band in 1975. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Denver. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
C.T.O. intends to spend some time apart after the tour, to allow the group members to work on individual projects. The group is in the second leg of the tour promoting for their latest record. C.T.O.'s newest project has been heavily influenced by artists of the '80s.
The group is sure to schedule a performance at Vacancy in Biloxi every time they tour because they used to play there all the time before they made it big. C.T.O. respects the fact that their fans love their previous albums, so they go to great effort to incorporate the previous hits with the latest ones.
