D. Roof began playing together in 1992. One of the band's members used to fall asleep with the radio playing as a child. D. Roof began playing in the school yard before the entire school. The band was influenced by Big Joe Turner.

D. Roof's most current release is the group's first since the band members went to work on independent projects five years ago. The group may have recently completed their most current project, but they are planning the next release already. After this past hectic year the members of D. Roof will take some time off to rest after a long year.

D. Roof was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The groupstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together. D. Roof’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum.
