Da Phunk Band started performing at church in front of the entire congregation. The group was influenced by jazz music. The members of Da Phunk Band met in high school. One of the band's members found his love of music by listening to his grandmother's record collection.

Da Phunk Band was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The band played for little to no money at first and was just happy to be given a chance to be heard. Da Phunk Band’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started.

Da Phunk Band plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long year. The band recently completed their new release, but they are already planning their next move. Da Phunk Band's most current record took months to create.
