DADA started singing at the local bar Chief. The lead singer was influenced by his grandmother's love of music. The guitarist was encouraged to play by his mother. DADA’s members met in 1984. The band was influenced by jazz.

DADA's newest album is the group's first since the band members went to work on independent projects seven years ago. The band has just completed their latest album, and they are already plotting the next move.

DADA finally knew they made it in 1999, when Mandy O'Malley started the band’s first fan club. The band embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the band’s own website by Shirley Rummerfield and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
