Damned to Suburbia started playing at the college dive bar Vacuum. The drummer was encouraged to play by his dad. The bassist use to listen to tape constantly as a teenager. The members of Damned to Suburbia met in grade school. The group was influenced by Aretha Franklin.

Damned to Suburbia met with a local DJ from Q94.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The group members were glad once they were signed and quit their odd jobs that had supported them while they worked toward their dreams. After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Damned to Suburbia knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder.

Damned to Suburbia finally knew they made it as soon as Mandy Jasper started the first fan club for the band in 1998. The fan club received a huge boost after Sharon Dunn designed a website for the group. That coupled with the tour from California to New York saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.

Damned to Suburbia will take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long tour. The group may have just completed their most current record, but they are already planning the next release. The most current release is 's first release since the band broke up five years ago.
