Damone began playing together in 1985. Frank Sinatra heavily influenced the early work of the band. Damone started performing at the local club Cafeteria. The bassist used to listen to radio constantly as a child.

Damone first garnered some national attention with their first single. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started. Damone was discovered while playing at at Anyplace, local bar. The band members were ecstatic that all the small bars they had played had paid off.

Damone realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after Nancy Rummerfield started the first fan club for the group in 1986. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Houston. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.

After this last busy year the members of Damone will spend some time apart to rest. The band is in the start of the tour accompanying for their newest release. The most current project from Damone has taken the band in a surprisingly new direction, with a more refined sound.
