Dance Factory began playing in festivals. The lead singer was encouraged to play by his grade school teacher. The bassist use to listen to CDs constantly as a teenager. Dance Factory’s members met in grade school. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van at local shows.
Dance Factory’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them.
Dance Factory realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true when Angela Kostner started the first fan club for the group in 1987. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the band’s own website by Linda Slatter and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
The group may have just completed their newest project, but they are already planning their next move. Dance Factory's new album is the band's first project since the band broke up seven years ago.
The group loves playing in Philadelphia because they played their first sold out show there.
