David Cook rocked his way to the finals of American Idol and won what was thought to be a talent competition reserved for pop and souls. Now he is on the road to promote his self-titled album. The album broke after his victory last May and broke a record, landing 11 tracks from Billboard Hot 100. His Declaration tour will take his set list from the radio and to the stage at 36 campuses across the U.S.

Cook won the seventh season of the Idol competition with Billie Jean and Eleanor Rigby. David manage to impress the judges and win the popular vote, but he also managed to impress the music community before auditioning for the reality show.

As the lead singer for Axium and the lead guitarist for Midwest Kings Cook came close to making it in the rock world. Favorable reviews and tracks picked up by AMC Theatres could not sustain a full fledged break into stardom.
