The members of Doves met in 1995. The bassist was heavily influenced by his dad's love for music. Doves began performing at Finances, a college bar. The band used to sell their CDs out of their truck on campus.

Doves's new release is the band's third album. The group has just completed their most current record, but they are thinking of what is next to come. After this last busy year the members of Doves will take some time off to pursue individual projects.

Doves continued to work hard, scared they would just be another one hit wonder. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they started.

Doves knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1976, after Liz O'Toole started the group’s first fan club. Starting out with just a few dozen members in San Antonio, the fan club quickly grew with group’s national tour and the launching of the band’s website by Kathleen Anderson.

The group is sure to schedule a performance at Hail in Dallas every time they tour because they used to play there all the time before they made it big. Doves respects the fact that their fans love their older albums, so they go to great effort to incorporate the older hits with the most current ones.
