Dr. Dog is the psychedelic rock group from Philadelphia that has found a modern day fan base despite a sound that beckons back to the ‘60s. Until the group toured with My Morning Jacket in 2004 and Kelefa Sanneh, the New York Times music critic, the band operated independently. After the sudden attention, Rough Trade Records signed the Dr. Dog.

The band quickly toured the United States and attracted the other bands interested in using the group as a touring partner. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Strokes, The Ranconteurs, and The Black Keys.

Right now six members are currently in the group, each with their own nickname. Scott McMicken (Taxi) plays lead woof, mud distortion guitar, and vocals; Toby Leaman (Tables) plays finger bass and vocals; Zach Miller (Text) plays keyboard, guitar, and vocals; Jutson Stens (Trouble) plays trapset, harmonies, and vehicle maintenance; and Sukey Jumps (Thanks) plays full grip chords and vocals.
