E is for Elephant began playing together in 1978. The drummer was heavily influenced by his grandfather's love for music. E is for Elephant started performing at Bunch, a local club. The band was influenced by Bobby Darin.
E is for Elephant met with a local DJ from K89.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The groupyears opening for bands at dive bars.
E is for Elephant knew that living life as a musician was a actual possibility when Jessica Francoeur started the first fan club for the group in 1995. Starting out in San Diego with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand from New York to California in under a year.
The new record from E is for Elephant has taken the band in a surprisingly new direction, using more instruments than ever before. The group recently finished their newest project, but they are already planning their next move. Members of E is for Elephant hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever.
