The members of Ed Trickett met in middle school. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in grade school. Ed Trickett began playing at the college dive bar Anyplace. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van at school.

Ed Trickett met with a local DJ from B93.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. Ed Trickett’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention.

Ed Trickett hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever. The group just completed their new album, but they are plotting their next move already. The new album from Ed Trickett is the group's eighth project.

Ed Trickett realizes that most fans like their older songs, so they use material from older projects and the new album. San Francisco has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the group schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
