Eels Tickets
Eels began performing at the local club Governor. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in middle school. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his family's collection of records. Eels’s members met in 1980. The group was influenced by music of the '50s.
Eels were sure they were not going to be a one hit wonder after their single became popular. Eels met with a local DJ from X97.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band.
Eels knew that living life as a musician was a actual possibility in 1981, after Anna Lambert started the group’s first fan club. Initially the band only had a few fans from Oklahoma City in the club, but after playing from California to New York the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Eels's members are expecting to bring in another audience with this tour and the latest project. The group may have recently completed their newest release, but they are already thinking of their next move. Eels's latest project is the band's first album in three years.
Critics have often commended Eels for their ability to connect with the audience when they perform live. Gary Quaid, a music critic from Tampa, has always commended band’s tremendous vocals. Eels’s latest project has received inspiring reviews from all the critics, including Nathan Ihnen from Omaha and Shane Richardson from Boston.
Eels respects the fact that their fans love their previous records, so they go to great effort to incorporate the previous hits with the most current ones. Every time the group comes to San Antonio they are sure to stop at Accountant and play a show.
