He later got noticed and decided to start his own band called Bluesology. Performing live solo and with his band, he eventually was backing tours with his band with major blues and R&B musicians like the Isley Brothers, Major Lance, Billy Stewart, Doris Troy and Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles. He eventually made it big-time when he made his first recording and became one of the best pianists known today.
