In 1994, Billy Joel toured with Elton John on a “Face to Face” tour, making successful tours with the longest running in pop music history. His songs were underappreciated because the record recorded at the wrong speed, leading to him not becoming a breakthrough performer until his lie performances in 1981.
At 15, John received helped from his parents to become a weekend pianist at the nearby Northwood Hills pub to get some performance time with his fantastic playing. Playing under the name “Reggie” he played all sorts of songs including his own songs. He later joined up with the Corvettes for some extra performance. He later got noticed and decided to start his own band called Bluesology. Performing live solo and with his band, he eventually was backing tours with his band with major blues and R&B musicians like the Isley Brothers, Major Lance, Billy Stewart, Doris Troy and Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles. He eventually made it big-time when he made his first recording and became one of the best pianists known today.
