The members of Everclear met in high school. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. The bassist used to listen to his sibling's tape constantly as a kid. Everclear started performing at Anyplace, a local dive bar. The British invasion heavily influenced the early work of the band.

Everclear's new project is the group's first since the group members went to work on independent projects eight years ago. The band recently finished their latest project, and they are planning the next release already. Everclear intends to spend some time apart after the tour, to allow the group members to work on individual projects.

Everclear met with a local DJ from X102.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song.
