Fabulous Motown Revue began playing in the school yard before the entire school. Mamie Smith heavily influenced the early work of the band. The members of Fabulous Motown Revue met in 1976. The band wanted to be known around the world since they were in college.

Fabulous Motown Revue met with a local DJ from K89.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The band took any show they could get before they were signed. Fabulous Motown Revue’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold. The band really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly before fans.

Fabulous Motown Revue plans to take some time off after the tour, to allow the group members to pursue individual projects. The band is in the start of the promotional tour for their newest project.
