Facedown Fest 2 Day Pass began playing at Beach, a college bar. The guitarist used to annoy his father by playing his favorite record at all hours of the night. The drummer was encouraged to play by his dad. Facedown Fest 2 Day Pass began playing together while they were in grade school. The band used to practice at the bassist's basement.

Facedown Fest 2 Day Pass met with a local DJ from X98.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The bandplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning.
