Fair To Midland began playing together while they were in middle school. The guitarist was influenced by his grandmother's love of music. Fair To Midland started singing at the college club Optimist. The group was influenced by Hank Williams.
After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Fair To Midland was signed to a record deal. Fair To Midland’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention.
Fair To Midland realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true when the group’s first fan club was started in 1985 by Melissa Kloiber. The club started out in Buffalo with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
The newest record is 's first record since the band broke up five years ago. The band is in the first leg of the tour accompanying for their newest project. Fair To Midland plans to take some time off after the tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long year.
