Faithless began performing at the college dive bar Fighter. The lead singer use to listen to records constantly as a kid. The bassist was influenced by his grandmother's love of music. The members of Faithless met in 1981. The group used to practice at the bassist's garage.

After this last busy year the members of Faithless will spend some time apart. The group has just completed their most current release, but they are already plotting the next move. Faithless's most current record has been heavily influenced by artists of the '70s.

Faithless’s single climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The years of paying their dues paid off when Faithless signed a record deal.

Faithless realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1980, after the band's first fan club was started by Rebecca Jean. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.

Detroit has always been a haven for the group, so they are sure to schedule a performance there every time they tour.
