fat al started performing at the college club City. The guitaristdiscovered his love of music by listening to his dad's record collection. The drummer used to listen to his sibling's music constantly as a kid. fat al began playing together in 1992. Kiss heavily influenced the early work of the group.

After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, fat al knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder. submitted their single to K95.1 and a DJ took a liking to it.

fat al accepted that the possibility of living life as actual musicians was a real possibility in 1979, after Lisa Urich started the group’s first fan club. The club started out in Pittsburgh with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
