Flobots Tickets
The instrumentation may include emcees, a viola, a guitar, a bass guitar, drums, and a trumpet and the band members may have identification numbers, but the oddity that goes into Flobots also makes them one of the hottest acts around. Tickets to a Flobots’ concert can guarantee a unique mixture of hip hop, rap, and alternative rock. The group has been around in name since the 2001 release of Onomatopeia, but the current incarnation all centered on Jonny 5.
Jonny 5 kept the name after the side project that created Onomatopeia disbanded. The new Flobots, the 2005 edition, brought the talents of fellow emcee Brere Rabbit, violist Mackenzie Roberts, bassist Jesse Walker, guitarist Andy Guerrero, drummer Kenny Ortiz, and trumpet player Joe Ferrone. These Flobots have risen from a local phenomena in Denver to a national act that has hit the radio with the single “Handlebars” and been selling tickets to promote their album, Fight with Tools.
The rise of the politically and socially charged band came when “Handlebar” jumped from heavy rotation on the local radio station to number three on the Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart. The Flowbots then appeared on the Carson Daly show, Loveline, and the Tonight Show. The record deal with Universal Republic has the group touring constantly, hitting intimate stages and music festival to spread the word about the Flobots through the sale of tickets and albums.
