Flogging Molly Tickets
Flogging Molly celebrates the history of Ireland, politics, and the Roman Catholic Church with their hard punk sound and their Irish-American heritage. The Celtic punk band features lead singer Dave King, fiddle player Bridget King, guitarist Dennis Casey, accordion and concertina player Matt Hensley, bassist Nathen Maxwell, mandolin and banjo player Bob Schmidt, and drummer George Schwindt.
The group took its name from the bar they used to play at every Monday in Los Angeles when they first started out in 1997. They felt liked they flogged the place with how often they played at Molly Malone’s so they called themselves Flogging Molly. The group seemed to do anything but flog themselves in reality.
Flogging Molly’s mixture of drinking song, politically-charged lyrics, and sentimental Irish anthems attracted an audience that flocks to the box office to buy tickets whenever the group is in town or buy their critically-acclaimed albums when they are released.
The band has received a surge in popularity thanks to their contributions to movie like The Departed and a variety of television shows. This surge has made them a hit on tour. The appreciative Flogging Molly has continued with a heavy touring schedule this summer and plan to go deep into the fall with a number of music festivals and their own tour to promote their newest album, Float.
