G. Love & Special Sauce started singing at the college bar Diva. The band used to practice at the bassist's basement. The members of G. Love & Special Sauce met in 1981. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his father's music collection.

G. Love & Special Sauce's most current project took just four months to create. The band is in the middle of the promotional tour for their newest release. After this last non-stop year the members of G. Love & Special Sauce will take a break to work on side projects.

G. Love & Special Sauce met with a local DJ from Q89.5 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The band played for years atparties making almost no money. The band now headlines shows across South America.
