Gap Band began playing at Attorney. The band wanted to be performers since they were in high school. Gap Band’s members were friends in grade school. The group was influenced by Mississippi John Hurt.

Gap Band's newest project is the band's first album since the band broke up four years ago. The band is in the second leg of the tour promoting for their most current project. Gap Band's members see this tour as a chance to expose another group of fans to their music.

Gap Band met with a local DJ from Q94.5 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. Gap Band signed the record deal, and fully expected that they would last past the first album.
